Sardar Mohinder Singh Bhogal, founder and the main
pillar of Bhogal Sons (Regd.), was born on Jan 18th,1927
at Jabalpur. His Father's name is Sardar Karam Singh. In
April 1938 his father came to Ludhiana and started to
make cycle parts at the workshop of Sardar Chanan Singh
Sohal by the name of Chakkar and Co. As his business
grew, he called his elder son Sardar Mohinder Singh to
come and help him in his new establishment. In 1939,
with the outbreak of the IInd World War, acute scarcity
of Bicycle parts, which used to be imported from UK, was
felt. At this needing hour, M.S. Bhogal lost no
opportunity and started producing cycle parts such as
the B.B.Axles, Hub Cones on general purpose Lathe
machines. The production of these parts on general
purpose Lathes was too low and the need for Special
Purpose Lathes was felt. Production of any sort of
Machine Tool was then banned due to the war as all such
activity needed prior government permission. In 1943,
M.S.Bhogal courageously took the initiative and
purchased castings of a Lathe machine. After carrying
out certain modifications M.S.Bhogal was able to carve
out a three and a half inches Special Purpose Lathe out
of ordinary lathe casting in a span of seven days by
working day and night. Owing to this innovation they
achieved multifold rise in production of cycle parts.
They are the pioneers to give automation to the cycle
parts industry in 1950. |

After independence, M.S.Bhogal manufactured India's first ever
Automatic Machine to produce Cycle Parts in the year 1954. The
fame and name of this innovation reached the first premier of
Free India , Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. The then Secretary
Industries ,Shri HVR Iyenger (ICS) and Development
Commissioner SSI were deputed to verify the facts. His reports
really impressed the Central Government and Pt. Nehru made
special reference to Bhogal's achievements. Later on Shri Lal
Bahadur Shastri, then Union Minister for Industries, visited
Bhogal Sons (Regd.) and inaugurated an Automatic Machine with
his benign hands. Dignitaries like Sh Partap Singh Kairon and
many other national leaders also visited and appreciated the
indigenous development of the Automatic Machine.
With Bhogal Sons (Regd.), the flagship unit and Bhogal
Exports, the exporting arm, the group consists of 5 companies
spread over 25,000 square metres of area and employ more than
600 people. During all these years BHOGAL group has maintained
its lead through entrepreneurship in indigenous process
developments. It has ensured not only good quality of its
products but has also kept the costs within control. All of
his brothers, (Late)Sardar Sachinder Singh, Sardar Dhanwant
Singh, Sardar Patwant Singh, (Late)Sardar Hardaman Singh,
Sardar Pardaman Singh and Sardar Surinder Singh, have
contributed a lot to make the company eligible to get so many
awards for it's quality. They had received 'Udyog Patra Award'
from Vice President of India in 1983. They have also received
'Export Award' from Govt. of Punjab state in 1980-81 for the
first time export of Cold Forged Products.
In nutshell every Ramgarhia feels proud of Bhogal's. They have
not only contributed towards the nations development through
export but have also proved that if one has a strong will
power and determination he can not only achieve his dreams but
also help and guide the needy. |

His
Message:
S.Mohinder Singh Bhogal has a firm belief from his
past experience that 'Work is Worship'. His advice to the
young is that they must develop the habit of hard work right
from the beginning. He also feels that every individual must
learn to work with his own hands and acquire some practical
skill. This saves him from dependence on others, apart from
enabling him to help the needy. Punctuality, he believes, is
the best habit to acquire. It saves a man from mental tension
and brings him calmness of temper. The punctual never gets
worsted in life. One should always try to speak
the truth. |
