Sardar Bahadur Singh Saggu

    The ‘Golden Ramgarhia’, Sardar Bahadur Singh Saggu WHO FETCHED Gold Medal in 2002 Asian Games held at Bussan was very dishearted in 1996 when doctor's advised him to quit athletics as he may loose movement in his legs because of spinal problem. He did not act on the doctor's advice.

     He prayed to God and started working hard with full determination. At last he succeeded to complete his mission to become the first golden Ramgarhia.

   He was born to Smt. Satwant Kaur Birdi on 7th April,1973 at Jalandhar. His Father Sardar Surinder Singh Saggu is humble and God fearing person. He has his own hydraulic press and repair workshop by the name of ‘Pritam Engineering Works’.

    From his childhood days Sardar bahadur Singh Saggu is a hard worker and was always keen to do extraordinary things. He was only 15 years old when he participated in Inter School Games (Patiala) and Junior Inter State Meet (Banglore) and fetched GOLD MEDAL and set a new meet record in 1988.

    With this Sardar Bahadur Singh had 5 Medals in school games, 16 medals in National Level, 7 medals in federation cup competition, 9 medals in all India police games, 16 medals in AAFI domestic tournament competition. He had set a new meet record in most of his tournaments.

     He gives credit of his success to his elder brother Sardar Sukhbir Singh Saggu who himself is a very good athlete of national level in long jump. His timely guidance and moral support encouraged him to do best in life.
    S. Bahadur Singh has full faith in God-The Almighty. He believes that without his consent nothing can be achieved. He had fetched many Gold Medals so we call him Golden Ramgarhia.
     We all Ramgarhias pray to God to bless him to win Medal in Olympic Games as well as to get his golden life partner and bring laurels to the community and country.
