Sardar Kewal Singh Matharu

    Sardar Kewal Singh Matharoo is a well-known video grapher of the Ludhiana city. He is known for his distinct vision while capturing the event.

    He was born to Smt. Surjit Kaur Sohal on January 13, 1960. His father’s name is Sardar Santokh Singh Matharoo. He did his schooling from Secret Heart. After schooling he started helping his father in his work. He started carpentry and shifted to lathe work and then again to carpentry. But he was born with artistic mind so he always tried to do extraordinary things.

     When he was doing woodwork job he was famous for the T.V. cabinet and speaker boxes. That work did not suite him because he knew that we can grow only if we diversify our self from our parental work. Then he took training from Sardar Paramjit Singh Riat of Rubal Video. His hard work bore fruits and he started his own recording center by the name of D.K. Video at Kalsian Street.

   He is famous for good quality video and still photography. He has works for press and his photographs are published in many newspapers of Punjab. He has worked for Desh Sewak and Aaj Dee Awaj (Daily News Paper of Punjabi).
   He is known for tour-photography and videography also. Mostly he visits Shri Hem Kunth Sahib every year from 1998 with his camera to capture the beauty of nature and memory of pilgrims. He is a good actor and has worked in Dastak, Fasley(Video Films), Shaheed Udham Singh(A Film), Naseeyat(A T.V. Serial) and Veeran(Shortly to be telecast from Alpha Punjabi Channel). He has been honored by many organizations. He is very social and is always ready to attend the workshops related to photography. He is members of many societies. He got married to Smt. Davinder on November 21st 1984 and the couple is blessed with a daughter and a son.
