He award ‘Patrikari De Baba Boarh’ means facing storms
and standing tall against all odds in life like the
strong Banyan tree. Sardar Pritam Singh Kainthal rightly
deserves this award and this suits him due to the fact
that he spent whole of his life working for the cause of
Ramgarhia community and industries of Ludhiana. S.
Pritam Singh Kainthal, popularly known as ‘Daddy’, was
born to Smt. Dhanwant Kaur Panesar on 22nd October, 1922
at District Nawansehar (Punjab).

His father, Sardar Mela Singh was a born architect. He
had designed the sacred and famous Dera of Radha Swami
at Beas (Amritsar, Punjab) with the guidance of Maharaj
Sawan Singh ji. After passing his matriculation he
completed his diploma in (Arisen+Artificial) from Rasool
Engineering College, Lahore-Pakistan in 1941. Then he
joined as building supervisor in police line Gursdaspur
(Punjab). That job didn't not pleased him because
somewhere inside him was a journalist who wanted to
break loose. After leaving the job he joined Sardar Labh
Singh Narang who was publishing ‘Fateh’ weekly and
‘Pritam’ monthly from Pakistan (Urdu). S. Pritam Singh
continued his study for F.A., and then completed his
graduation in 1946. |

During partition he shifted to Delhi office of ‘Fateh’. In
1949 he got the opportunity to publish a Daily Newspaper
‘RAFAQAT’ financed by Maharajah Faridkot and managed by Sardar
Gurnam Singh Teer ( an eminent Punjabi writer). Its
publication stopped because of some reasons. Then he joined as
chief editor ‘SADAQAT’, Daily with Sardar Nand Singh Jandu at
Ludhiana. In which he had an honour to publish the first 32
pages Supplement on Lord Vishawkarama in 1954. In 1955 he
started to publish his own magazine ‘Parvez’ on Industry and
literature. He also started ‘Industry Age Digest’ for ten
years from 1960 to 1970. Currently he is honourary editor of
‘Vishwakarma Parcharak’, a leading monthly from Yamuna Nagar.
‘Ramgarhia Manch’ was also started under his guidance. Now he
is regularly publishing souvenirs on many occasion like
Birthday of Maharajah Jassa Singh Ramgarhia ji, Bhai Laloo ji,
Lord Vishwakarma, Industrial Digest etc. |

He was awarded with ‘Maharaja Jassa Singh Ramgarhia Award’,
‘Patarkari de Baba Boarh’ and many other awards. At 80 he is
still very energetic and actively involved in the work of
Ramgarhia literature. He was married to Smt. Onkar Kaur
Rooprai of Sarhal Kalan District Jalandhar (Punjab) in 1940.
The couple is blessed with a daughter. His daughter Smt.
Kamaljit Kaur is taking care of him and his grand maternal son
Sardar Hardeep Singh Rayat is taking care of his publications.
The message he had conveyed to Ramgarhia community is that
Publication of Ramgarhia literature must be on a big way and
people who are doing selfless service for the Ramgarhia
community should be duly recognized. |
