Sardar Hira Singh
Gabrhia |

Honesty, sacrifice and courage are the main forces
behind the success of Sardar Hira Singh Gabrhia. He made
a record while taking a margin of 61027 votes in the
assembly elections of 1997.
HE WAS born with religious thoughts to Smt. Gurdeep Kaur
Jandon 15th December, 1947 at Chohla Sahib. His father
Sardar Gian Singh was very religious person. He was
known for his honesty in and around Chohla Sahib. His
mother often told him the stories of Sikh martyrs. This
inspired him to take an oath to serve the community. He
was put in jail at the age of 13 years for the Morcha
(battle for the betterment of Punjab) for Punjabi Suba |
|
After that he participated in all the movements, which
could be beneficial for Punjab. He went to jail a number
of times but every time he came out with a new energy,
spirit and courage. He shifted to Ludhiana in 1969 and
installed an Aatta Chakki (Flour Mill). But he was born
with political instinct, so he involved himself in the
politics. He worked on many posts of Akali Dal. Then he
contested the elections of M.L.A. and succeeded in 1997
making a record margin. He worked hard for the
development of his area and Ludhiana. It is only due to
his hard work that so many development projects have
been implemented in the city. I have seen in him energy,
qualities and sympathy for the work of his community,
really promising. |

He got married to Smt. Shalinder Kaur Reenu of Sirhand on 16th
March,1975. She did her studies from M.G. Ashoka High school
Sirhand. As it is said `every man has a woman behind his
success', behind the success of Sardar Hira Singh Gabrhia is
his wife, a nice and homely lady with strong dedication
towards the community. The couple is a God fearing. One.
Although he has lost the elections of 2002, but he is happy
that he is making the leaders from the Ramgarhia community. He
has given seven counciliors in Ludhiana Municipal Corporation.
He said that "In the previous cabinet there was only one
Ramgarhia but now there are two Ramgarhias in the assembly.
Next time we hope for more". He always believes that we can
show our strength only when we unite. |
