Family of Principal Malkiat Singh Ghatoura is renowned in the field of education, in and around Ludhiana. He is a man of principles. He is a self made man. He is known for his dedication and work which he has done for the Ramgarhia community. He was born to Smt. Dhan Kaur Bansal at his maternal house on 16th August, 1927 at village Khatra Chauharmi near Rara Sahib, District Ludhiana. His father Sardar Tara Singh do seppay at his home town. Sardar Malkiat Singh did his Matriculation from Government High School Gujrawal in 1945 securing good marks.

    He was brilliant in his student life. His classmates learnt from him how to prepare chalk, carpet and even hair oil. After completing his schooling and he joined F.A. ( Faculty of Arts ) at D.M. College, Moga . After F.A. he joined as interim teacher at village Mohie near Mullanpur, Ludhiana. In 1952, he joined Ramgarhia School Ludhiana as a Drawing Teacher. While teaching the students he underwent a training of JAN (Junior Anglo Vernacular). Under the principal ship of Sardar Ujjagar Singh he completed B.A., B.Ed., and M.A.. He was Senior NCC officer. Under his guidance, school has won many prizes in NCC and some of his cadets were selected for the Republic Day Parade at New Dehli. Some of his students have made him proud by serving the country in military (Col. Jarnail Singh Kalsi) is one of the examples. On November 30th,1966 school gave him a warm farewell because he was going to establish Dashmesh Senior Secondary School which has produced doctors, engineers, advocates. He is married to Smt. Mohinder Kaur Panesar, a very dedicated and soft spoken lady on 14th July, 1947.
