     Principal Harmit Kaur was born to Smt. Amar Kaur Phul Wife of Dr. Jagat Singh Dhanjal on (Chacha Nehru's Birthday) 14th November,1947 at Hisar. She had learned sincerity, commitments and honesty from her father. By following these she earned both name and fame in Ramgarhiakom. She was so brilliant that she got first division in M.A. & B.Ed. When she was receiving her degree of B.Ed. from the legendary personality of Ramgarhiakom (Baba Gurmukh Singh), she didn't even know that she would serve as the principal of the college, to be established by Baba Gurmukh Singh (G. S. Auto).

     After she had worked for 13 years as a lecturer in History at G.N.B.L. Ramgarhia College of Women, PHAGWARA, she joined Ramgarhia Girls College Ludhiana as a Principal. The college caters to the needs of women education in the industrial city of Ludhiana. It has carved a niche for itself in the educational scenario of Punjab. Every year, the pass percentage in college results is much higher than University pass percentage. Under her principal ship, the college has got many distinctions in Literary and Cultural Competitions. She has fetched many awards and honors for her dedication toward the women's education.
      She got married to Dr. Balwant Singh Sembhey who was born to Smt. Sant Kaur Sokhi w/o Giani Bhagat Singh, a renowned raagi of Kapurthala on 15th August,1947. All of his brothers are class One officers. He did his M.B.B.S. from Amritsar in 1970.
     After that he joined Army, where he was decorated with SANGRAM MEDAL, PACHHMI COMMAND SEWA MEDAL & 25th year of Independence medal. After that he left the job as a Captain and started his own practice in posh area of Ludhiana.

    He is an active member of “SARAB ROG KA AUKHAD NAAM” (To cure the patient with religious recites). His elder brother Sardar Hardyal Singh was the founder of “SARAB ROG KA AUKHAD NAAM”. Shaheed Memorial Sewa Society recognized his services by honoring him “DES SEWA RATTAN AWARD" in 2001. He is a president of Public Welfare Society Model House Ludhiana. All the prominent personalities have visited their premises.

    The couple is blessed with a brilliant daughter. The couple believes in simple living. The couple is driven by a strong religious favor. Both are used to pay obeisance at Gurudwara daily.
