Sardar Sohan Singh Khurl, also known as Sardar Sohan Singh "Goga", was born at Kotpamal, Ludhiana on 1st April,1959 to Smt. Bhagwant Kaur Hunjan and Sardar Darshan Singh.

    His mother went to heavenly abode when he was only one and a half years old. His aunt Smt. Harbans Kaur brought him up. His father started cycle parts business under the name "Darshan Singh & Sons" at Ludhiana in 1952.
   Sardar Sohan Singh passed his Matriculation from Government High School, Sahnewal (Ludhiana) in 1974. He was a very good sportsman. He was in Kabaddi team of his school.

     He was also member of his village kabaddi team and with his presence in the team, his village won five tournaments continuously. For further studies he joined Arya College for boys, Ludhiana. Due to the sad demise of his father in 1981, he had to join the family business of cycle parts.

    He is an executive member of United Cycle Parts Manufacturing Association. He is also a member of ‘Chamber of Commerce’ and various other reputed societies and sabhas. He was engaged in political activities in 1986 and was elected ‘Circle President’ of Shrimoni Akali Dal. He served as president of ‘United Youth Federation’ from 1989 to 1999 under the flagship of United Youth Federation. He organized various health check-up camps and Sabhayacharak (cultural) Mela's (events). In 1999 he was elected President of ‘Sarv Hind Siromani Youth Akali Dal’ where till now he is serving as president. He is very kind hearted and takes keen interest in serving the community and people.

     He got married to Smt. Kulwinder Kaur of Pamal village on 16th November,1986. His wife is not a different personality from him. Following her husband's footsteps she was nominated as candidate for Municipal councilor from their ward, which was declared ladies ward. She won a comfortable victory in 1997. Following the family tradition she worked for the development of her ward. A beauty in the form of a musical fountain in Basant Park, in 1997, was added to Ludhiana due to her continuous efforts. In recently held Municipal elections, Sohan Singh Khurl was elected as councilor from his ward. This was seen as a reward given by the people of their ward who showed their gratitude towards the couple's contribution in helping the poor and needy people of society. Sardar Sohan Singh Khurl dedicates his achievements to his political Guru Jathedar Hira Singh Ghabaria.

    The couple is blessed with two sons Japinder Singh and Onkarjeet Singh. Sardar Sohan Singh Khurl is a strong believer in unity among the community and following that, he honored 110 personalities within Ramgarhia community to show his commitment toward the Ramgarhia community.
